Marks and Spencer

Marks and Spencer.jpgWe have been playing carols at Marks and Spencer in Cheshire Oaks for a number of years now and our final outing for 2022 was to this venue. For this final session we were rather low on numbers with players absent suffering from 'carol fatigue'. When we started Steve, our solo cornet had to work late so Chris, our flugel player, had to lead the melody until Steve arrived fresh from work.  The flugel, on it's own on melody, gave the carols a beautiful soft mellow sound.  When Steve arrived he quickly put a stop to this and made sure the melodies rang out from our pitch.Not wanting to be upstaged he also managed to block her out from the picture.  You can just see her shoulder past Steve's back.
