Ellesmere Port Market 2023

ellesmere-port-market.jpgWe played at Ellesmere Port Market on Sunday 17th December this year, located inside the market, squashed into an unoccupied stall, it was a pleasant alternative to being outside subject to the vagaries of the weather.  Below you will find some pictures from the morning, just click on them to see them full size, and if you click on the picture of the market you'll be taken to their website.

The band gets ready to play.  Only one person has followed the agreed rule for hats - our MD!  See the last picture in The Pulford Page.

And we're off.  A well-balanced ensemble producing a good Christmas sound. Although the empty seat next to the baritone was occupied by our Euphonium player.  Unfortunately, his playing was so erratic that he had to be sent off to take photographs.

A view over the cornets.

A view over the bass.

Second Cornet and Bari try to make it look as if our horn player played a wrong note.  But she knows that it was one of them and that she didn't make a mistake.

We all laugh at our MD's anecdotes.

Before starting our MD gave us a pep talk about tidiness, stand heights etc.  A tidy band gives a good impression, heightens the impression of organisation, competence and generally raises the audiences expectation of a good performance.   Very reasonable. So why is the MD's pad lying in the middle of the floor?
